Our mission is to reinforce the role of independent fund director as a true guardian of investor interests while providing the asset manager and other service providers with an experienced and complementary resource upon which to draw and leverage. Our approach is to support the enterprise and also provide investors and stakeholders with comfort that their interests are represented by a fiduciary having the requisite knowledge, experience and independence required.

We understand the role of the independent fund director, the fiduciary laws and the responsibilities surrounding each appointment we accept. Our approach is to ensure readiness to discharge fiduciary duties, to take an active approach and provide valuable oversight and support. We recognise that an individual has limited capacity to assume fiduciary appointments and accordingly we are committed to restricting our number of relationships.

Towers Fiduciary maintains the highest standards of business conduct, integrity and ethical behaviour. Our existing portfolio of fund engagements, represented by many renowned offerings and a wide diversity of strategies, is a reflection of our quest for long term engagements. Undeniably, obligations to our existing relationships demand that we maintain such standards. This requires Towers Fiduciary to be discerning and restrained in our selection process with particular emphasis to avoid engagement with parties who may feel threatened by the idea of any oversight or perceive a weakening of their control over the enterprise.

Marc Towers has provided fiduciary services to boutique investment funds as well as sophisticated alternative investment management groups and is experienced is a vast array of strategies, varied regulatory requirements and disparate investor groups. Marc has served on boards across the full range fund legal structures including hedge funds, long-only funds, fund of funds, SPC’s, UCITS structures, master-feeder structures, mini-master funds, investment management companies, managed account funds and platforms, special purpose vehicles and private equity funds. Having such considerable experience across a broad range of structures enables Marc to add value to the structuring process and, to the extent necessary, to meet the client specific requirements.

We work closely with our clients during the start-up phase of their enterprise and support clients to establish the governance and reporting frameworks that is crucial to build and maintain an institutional class asset management business.

Our experience is kept current through our focus on the developing issues. We have a close relationship with industry and attend regulatory and investor conferences around the globe and maintain membership of professional bodies. Marc is active within organizations engaged in policy development and leadership in the alternatives industry and is a member of the Regulatory Committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) in Singapore.

We actively collaborate and share our knowledge and experience to enable us to navigate the complexity and dynamic nature of the industry within which we operate. Marc has authored articles appearing in alternative investment publications and participated in numerous panel discussions, speaking on varied topics including corporate governance, due diligence and best practices at leading industry conferences.

Marc maintains relationships with the investor community and with a wide network of service providers including fund administrators, prime brokers, onshore and offshore law firms and audit firms and he meets frequently with these service providers, investors as well as asset managers around the world.

Towers Fiduciary is completely independent of investment managers and all service providers in the industry.We appreciate that it is crucial to demonstrate independence and that no suggestion of conflicts of interest may arise. We do not invest in any of our client funds.
